Who we are

We are a community of ordinary people from many walks of life, committed to following Jesus together.

The Fellowship was founded in 1994, when several Christians from different backgrounds were given a clear vision to reach out to the town and surrounding communities with the Gospel Message.

We are a Bible believing independent church affiliated to the Fellowship of Independent Evangelical Churches (F.I.E.C).

While we are an independent church with our own pastor and eldership, we regularly have visiting Evangelical preachers from other mainstream churches.

(More information about what we believe and the structure of the church can be obtained through our constitution and the FIEC website).

Our Vision

To know Jesus personally and to reach people with the good news of Jesus, to make him known.

To teach the truths of the Bible in an easy-to-understand and engaging manner.

To demonstrate in our lives the love of Christ.

To realise the vision, we seek to encourage our brothers and sisters to work together using the grace and gifting that the Lord has blessed each one with as we work together for Christ’s glory.

“Prepare God’s people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature…” Eph.4:12-13

While we may come from various denominational backgrounds and see some aspects of theology differently, by the Lord’s grace we unite over the fundamentals of Christ and his gospel as we work together to fulfil the great commission.

The words of St. Augustine summarise the unity that we share “In essentials unity, in non-essentials liberty and in all things charity”.

However, Paul explains the challenge that this presents in Eph.4:2-3

“Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace”.

Prayer

Prayer and the praying life of the church is vitally important to us, it is at the heart of all we do.
It is through prayer that we bring our thanksgiving, praise and requests to God our Father, and it is through prayer that we intercede for the life of the church and for the lives of those known to our church family locally and globally.

If you’d like someone in our fellowship to pray for you, make your prayer request via the “Get in Touch” form.

Comments about the fellowship

A few comments from members and friends of the fellowship.

Friendly, welcoming, nurturing, modern, yet still shares the truth of the Bible.

Accepting.

It’s a place where Jesus is preached, and the people exhibit the love of Christ.

First thought. It was palpable how the love for the Lord shone out of everyone in the church, which says volumes for our pastor.

I was welcomed from day one.

I can’t wait for Sundays, so I can be in such revered company, where I can get closer to the Lord, and feel my heart lifted high.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

I like DDCF because it reflects the security that God gives to all Christians.

I feel “at home” with the DDCF.

The fellowship is a loving family of brothers & sisters in Christ… a family who love Jesus & each other.

What a blessing to be in God’s love and His loving family.

“By this everyone will know you are my disciples, if you love one another”.

The fellowship are very welcoming. There is a real love of God.

The fellowship gives me a real sense of family. I look forward to going along every Sunday.

It is welcoming and loving. I can be myeslf.

“Taste and see that the Lord is good”.

DDCF, to me is family. We all love the Lord, and long to share that love with each other and the lost around us.

We are all there for each other, and it is great to be a part of this small portion of God’s family.

I like the church because I like to worship God and learn more about him, and show how powerful he is.

It’s where we were saved.

It exhibits –

 love
   joy
    fellowship.

Bible centred.

Tea, coffee + biscuits!

Within the DDCF there is:-
The presence of a sincere faith and a spirit of unity.
A Christian fellowship offering spiritual, emotional + friendly support to all.

The fellowship means everything to me.

Not only do I enjoy the interesting biblical teaching & bible stories, the love and warmth of the people is outstanding.

The fellowship has given me a home from home. It’s a place where anyone can feel safe and accepted.

I encourage people to visit the church and get a taste of what it’s about. It was enough for me to come every week and feel accepted within the family.

Thank you to all who contributed.
